THE LIGHTBRINGER OF SWEDEN, a power metal band from Sweden, has just released a single titled “Heroes Of The Past” today 12 July 2023 through all major digital platforms.

The song “Heroes Of The Past” is taken from their latest album “The New World Order” which was released in January 2023.
THE LIGHTBRINGER OF SWEDEN began in mid-2017, when guitarist Lars Eng started writing music, his goal was to make an album close to his heart and make music that came out naturally. In other words he is looking for the roots of his musical identity. He started listening to all the music that influenced him such as Tobias Sammet, Kai Hansen, Adrian Smith, Leo Leoni, Wolf Hoffman and others, and tried to find out what they were doing that interested him, with their music in his head, riffs and melodies. Then he started writing it himself and summarizing the feelings and emotions he felt when he listened to the music that influenced him.
After writing the lyrics he felt that this was something bigger and better than just another metal album, he started to see a whole new story and the things he wrote were related to one another. And he kept the lyrics for a while and started writing a story about the Devil (The Lightbringer) and his right-hand man Skeletor and their fight with the angels.
SKELETOR: Skeletor was sent to earth by the devil himself, with a mission to bring back a thousand souls for the devil so he can rise from hell and make earth his playground.
THE LIGHTBRINGER: The devil himself, the collector of a thousand souls, fights for his existence with the angels sent by God.
That is the basic story for this album. But once I started writing songs, there was so much more to write, and thoughts started to come. Is a Devil really appearing or is this just imagination?
In 2018, the work continued and Lars started looking for people who could help him with this project, and it was not an easy task, people liked what they heard but time was of the essence and the project was put on hold.
The song “Skeletor” was recorded, in Lars’ studio in mid-2018 and the search for a singer began. Niklas Stålvind of the band WOLF was in Lars’s shadow and he accepted to work on the project, time flew by and Niklas’ work on WOLF masterpiece “Feeding the Machine” took longer than expected. He was determined to have Niklas on vocals, so he waited for him to finish the WOLF album.
In 2019, as time went on, he started getting restless and had to run his project again. He had plans to get the first single “Skeletor” ready and release it under their own banner. After a while he got in touch with Herbie Langhans of AVANTASIA & FIREWIND and he had more fun singing on this single and so, he started working with Skeletor and made some amazing work. Herbie was perfect for the song, it was the perfect match and we decided to do an entire album with him.
On November 1st they released the single “Skeletor” under their own banner and a month later on December 1si continued to release their second single “The Beast inside of Me“.
And finally on July 15 2020 the debut album “Rise Of The Beast” was released. Then on February 15, 2021 the single “Farewell” was released, a song that was not included in any album, this is a song about losing someone close, this song was written about 10 years ago and was first recorded in another project called TEASER.
Seven months later, they released their first single “Free The Angels” for their second album “The New World Order” and the second single was released on March 4 2022 entitled “Strike Back“. On January 18, 2023 the second album “The New World Order” was released.
