Swedish modern power & melodic metal band METALITE will release their fourth album “Expedition One” on January 19, 2024 through AFM Records. The album combines a strong female voice with melodic synths and catchy guitar leads. Mix & mastering handled by Jacob Hansen (VOLBEAT, AMARANTHE, EPICA, EVERGREY).
To turn the vision of a truly impressive concept album into a reality, a band needs not only a catchy theme and an impressive number of songs, but also a great deal of experience and skill in music. All of these criteria are present in “Expedition One”, an album inspired by diverse compositions and witty sci-fi stories that are highly topical. In addition, their fourth album shows the extraordinary artistic development of the musicians. “In the last four or five years, our music has come a long way,” explains Edwin Premberg, the brains and producer of the band founded in 2015. “Our production quality in particular has improved a lot since our debut.”
In welcoming our new album, apart from the main singles “Hurricane“, “Take My Hand” and “Disciples Of The Stars“, there will be three more singles, namely “Blazing Skies” which will be released today August 18 2023, “New Generation” will be released on October 6, 2023 and “Aurora” which will be released on November 24, 2023.
The theme of “Expedition One” is the fictional story of life on our planet in the year 2055. ‘Transparent citizens’ have become a harsh reality, with physical and mental health conditions increasingly defining our lives. Led by five “commanders,” a rebel team consisting of former intelligence service and military personnel plus breakaway tech company executives is planning a survival expedition to a distant planet. Their mission: to transport humanity from our shattered planet to a new world, with the hope of new life blooming. A fantastic adventure begins, with many unexpected experiences and a whole new understanding of the mysteries of life. Premberg: “It’s about human evolution and the fact that we’re permanently looking for the easy way out, even if it’s definitely not our best option.”
This visionary sci-fi story is told over sixteen multi-faceted songs that incorporate the many strengths of multiple instruments: powerful, smooth guitar riffs and solos, vocalist Erica Ohlsson‘s anthemic melodies, driving rhythms, and slick, cleverly keyboards. .
Premberg: “Fans often tell us that our songs have a cinematic quality, so we wanted to write a story that would develop between “Expedition One” and our previous albums “Heroes In Time” (2017), “Biomechanicals” (2019) and “A Virtual World” (2021) to bring it all together. It was a little complicated at first, but as we got to the heart of the story, we are very happy with the result.”
