Finnish power metal band METAL DE FACTO announced the cover for their second album. In order to follow up the 2019 debut album “Imperium Romanum“, METAL DE FACTO‘s 2nd album entitled “Land of the Rising Sun part I” will be released in 2024 through its label Rockshots Records, with the first single to be released in early autumn 2023! In their second album, they raised the theme of Japanese culture.
This album also introduces their new vocalist Aitor Arrastia to the power metal public in the world.
Guitarist Esa Orjatsalo says:
“We are very excited to reveal the album cover and theme. Artwork done once again by Gyula Havancsák! What a vocal performance from new vocalist Aitor Arrastia, I know I’m so excited to finally put these songs out for all Power Metal fans! And as you might have guessed from the title… there will be a part II later, so it’s the gift that keeps on giving!”.
METAL DE FACTO was formed in late 2017 by Esa Orjatsalo (ex-DREAMTALE) and Sami Hinkka (ENSIFERUM), who had met and discussed the deeper meaning of power metal on the ENSIFERUM tour bus. The line-up soon completes with Atte Marttinen (ex-Kivimetsän Druidi), Benji Connelly (EVERFROST), Mikko Salovaara (LEVERAGE) and Mikael Salo (EVERFROST). The band vowed to “Make Power Metal Great Again” with their powerful sound and epic concept, dealing with distinct historical and mythological themes.
The idea was that each album would have a theme based on the history and mythology of a particular country/culture. The debut album “Imperium Romanum” will explore the Roman Empire and the many stories, true stories, and philosophies associated with it. Each song is about a different aspect of this huge topic, and while it’s fun as an escapist storytelling in itself, it also delves into the mindsets of the various characters and people from the perspective of whom the songs were written.
Guitarist and founder Esa Orjatsalo stated: “As our band name states, this is pure heavy metal the way we like it, that means it’s time to “Make Power Metal Great Again”! That’s what METAL DE FACTO means. “Imperium Romanum” is an album made by die-hard power metal fans for other power metal fans. We don’t want to reinvent the wheel just for the sake of it, but we’re also bringing some new perspectives to songwriting. If I heard this album when I was younger, I would be so excited!”
